A few friends weren’t kidding when they said blogging can become addicting. I love it already! I figured I’d blog about my pregnancy & everything related to that as much as I can since I’m NINE MONTHS PREGNANT TODAY =).. wooo hooo! Won’t be pregnant for too long, so I have to take advantage. I Thought I’d share the TOP FIVE “MUST HAVE” while being prego! These items have helped me A LOT throughout this pregnancy.
Numero UNO: Palmer lotion for stretch marks. Not to brag but I don’t have a SINGLE stretch mark (not yet, & I really hope I don’t jinx it). I use this lotion after every shower & before bed every night. I’m not kidding when I say this lotion is THE BEST! I plan on using it after I deliver as well. The best part is…. it’s about $6 bucks & you can find it at target, CVS, Walmart, etc.
#2: Pregnancy body pillow, also known as my best friend & my husband’s worst enemy. This body pillow is AMAZING! When I first bought it, I thought it was ENORMOUS! But the bigger you get, the smaller the pillow becomes. It supports your back & allows you to curl your legs around it. The only downside about the pillow is how much your husband/boyfriend will hate it! Tony complains about it every night & hates the big gap it divides between us. But don’t pay attention to them. They’re not the ones carrying the baby for ten months.
#3: Moccasins! I was lucky I was not very pregnant during the summer (thank god) so I was able to wear flip flops. Every time I attempt to pull up any of my high winter boots, my baby bump would get in the way. Around October, I started gaining a lot of weight & I just HAD to buy comfortable shoes. I bought moccasins. I literally wear them EVERYDAY; I’m wearing them as I type. They’re comfy & support my BIG swollen feet. Plus I think they’re adorable. I refused to wear crops (no offense to anyone who has them), but they’re UGLY. You can find moccasins at Nordstrom’s for $60.
#4: “What to expect when expecting”. When my aunt found out she was pregnant, she bought a book called “What to expect when expecting” and read it throughout her pregnancy. She always mentioned how much she was learning from this book. She decided to pass it on to other women in the family whenever they/we were pregnant. So far, two aunts, two cousins && myself have read the book. We all put our names & due date on the inside cover. She made it a pregnancy tradition. The book is practically falling apart but I love it. Anyway, BUY THE BOOK! I think every woman should learn every single developmental stage their baby is going through. Mondays are not only my favorite day because Gossip Girl is on but because I’m one more week pregnant every Monday. I remember one Monday I read about how it feels when babies get the hiccups. It said my baby was big enough to get the hiccups. Sure enough, about four days later, Mateo got the hiccups for the first time. It was a beautiful feeling. You won't go wrong with this book. I call it the "pregnancy bible". I love it!
#5: is more of an advice. Cravings. Whatever they are, HAVE IT! Expect if it’s a margarita of course! In the beginning of the pregnancy I wouldn’t have every single craving because most of my cravings have been fatty food :(..I was scared to gain TOO much weight because prior to my pregnancy, I worked out four/five times a week & I didn’t want to throw all that hard work away. BUT, after MANY people advice me on how important it is to satisfy the baby and his/her cravings (blame the baby, of course) I learned to let that go. Every pregnant woman gains weight. There’s no way out of it, we have a little life growing inside us & it’s bound to happen. Even though I complain about my weight gain sometimes, I can honestly say I enjoy having an excuse to be BIG (never use the term HUGE please) & eat whatever I want. Yes, I still have fruit & veggies but if I’m craving a cheeseburger, I’m going to have it. I’ll have to deal with losing weight once I have baby Mateo. I know I’ll regret it the first day I step foot on that treadmill but I am enjoying well it lasts.
